I take 1200mg lithium, along w a few other meds, and i've been experiencing tremors in my hands the last few weeks. my left hand is particularly affected (it is my non-dominant hand), especially my ring and pinky fingers. I notice this when I am texting, holding cups as well as simply holding my hands out for whatever reason. I've gotten a blood level done, no results yet, but have any of you experienced this often? I've been on lithium for 6 years. I drink a large amount of water and not a lot of caffeine. my habits haven't changed, just the tremors. I'm not out in the sun and heat (it gets very hot & humid where I live), so dehydration and heat exhaustion aren't really a thing right now. any tips other than the water and caffeine intake? Thanks!

I will add: my doc says wellbutrin can cause tremors, but only in the very beginning of taking it. I've been on that for about a year now. it feels a little embarrassing.

I had tremors on lithium (and other meds). I took propanolol for it and it worked quite well.

I had severe tremors caused by meds so I will have to agree that propranolol worked wonders. It stopped my tremors completely.

Anybody remembers how much propanolol did you take?.
I remember taking it when I was on klonopin.
Now on lithium has gotten worse. I'm taking 20 mg twice a day. Too little?.

I'm taking 20 mg twice daily as well. It seems to be the perfect amount for me.
Thanks for this!

I just live with the tremors. I'd rather not take another drug if I can help it. My tremors are the worst in the morning when I wake up. My hands really shake. Then it gets better as the day progresses. I am also on 1200 mg of Lithium, by the way.

I've had some terrible tremors in the past but they all dissipated when I got to the source. Good luck

I get tremors from a lot of APs but nothing bad enough to stop. However when I was on lithium I had a hand tremor so bad it effected my schooling. Imagine doing a blood draw with a needle in your hand and shaking the whole time! Then soon after I got toxicity so if I were you I'd demand blood work. And drink plenty of fluids. I'll never go on lithium again.

A girl in our support group had real bad lithium tremors.
Now she's off, but still has about 25% of original tremor.
It's like she's got Parkinson's.

I got hellish tremors while I was taking Lithium.... even when I stopped it took a few months to almost completely go away. I still have a slight tremor left over ... Thanks Lithium
