I've been complaining too much. Let's have some fun threads around here, shall we?

Do you have any pets? If you do, do you find they help you with your mood at all? If you don't, do you want any pets?

I don't have any pets, but I would like a dog once I finally move out of my parents' house. I love dogs because they're so energetic and friendly, although I've also thought about a cat too. They have a different kind of affection, which is nice.

We have a dog, a cat, and some chickens. The chickens are more utilitarian than pet (good eggs!). I'm not totally a dog person, but I do love our dog - and we're about to get a puppy. I am a cat person, though, and I find my cat so soothing and calming, especially when I'm stressed or anxious. She's affectionate, but not needy. She's soft and pleasant, clean and doesn't have a massive wet nose. She's relatively independent most of the time, so she doesn't require quite as much work as a dog. But she definitely feeds my soul.

I have two kittens and a Guinea pig. The Guinea pig is old, about six years, so I'm not sure how much time he has left on this earth. The kittens I just got In May. I love them. I got them because my older cat wasn't very affectionate and I wanted cats that would lay with me at night because I'm super lonely at night. The kittens do that. They lay on me and purr all the time. They calm me and help me feel less lonely.

Unfortunately my older cat did not like the kittens and he ran away :-( he's been gone for about a month. He left on May 29 and stayed away for two weeks; then he came back for a night and took off again I the morning. He came back ten days later but refused to come inside. He's still fat, so I think he found another family to take care of him. I wish he would come back but I can't force him to stay if he doesn't like the kittens. Hopefully he'll come and visit again soon.

I have a dog (well it's my grandparents dog) and a cat. My cat helps me a lot even though he isnt the most affectionate kitty in the world, he keeps me calm, lets me pet him, and play with him. I've had him for 4yrs and don't regret for a second adopting him.

I have a fabulous cat but he's living with mum now. He calmed me quite a lot and followed me everywhere. Mum needed something to care for and to calm her anxiety fear of dying alone and Sir did that. But I'll be joining them both soon.

I have 6 cats, one dog and three fishtanks full of fish.

During my life I've always tended to have between 6 and 8 cats and a dog

Knowing that I have these lives depending on me has often kept me going when I was thinking of sui**** because I was so scared they would end up being put down

They've saved my life

I have a dog and she is my everything! As a result she is just as neurotic as me. She has helped me more than anything mostly because she requires so much work that I don't have time to wallow in self pity. I took her to swim for the first time the other day and it was so fun! 🐶🌊🌊🌊

My husband had a dog when I married him, so now I do too. I was hesitant at first; I'm not really a dog person and I absolutely hate the sound of barking (!!!) but I have completely fallen in love (lucky for me, this one never ever barks either!). I am with him much of the day and he definitely helps me get out of my head, gain perspective, laugh, remember the good things in life.

I don't have any pets or service animals right now.
I have had German Shepherds, trained to Service Animal status in the past. My last one passed on from an aggressive cancer.

We are currently "in transition" with housing, affected by the flooding 4-5 years ago. When we are finally more settled in, I expect I'll have another dog, likely a Service dog. I have C-PTSD and cannot sleep well without my dog around (guarding). She'd always alert me to anything/everything I'd needed to know, day and night.

i don't have any pets, since i always thought to myself- in order to have pets, i need to look after myself first, and i can't do that most days

pets need attention, and until i can give myself the attention/ care i need, their will be no pets here.. though when i do get a pet, i'd quite like a cat.

1 of the reasons i believe this is because i can't stand animal abuse, and i feel at this time if i had a pet i'd be abusing it by not giving the time it needs

(a cat or anything else)

I have a dog and I'd love to get her certified as a support animal because she is wonderful. She knows when I'm having a rough time and doesn't leave my side. She will come and give me snuggles and kisses when I cry. And she sits and behaves as long as I need it. When I'm feeling good she's really playful so I know she adjusts herself to my moods. I don't know what I'd do without her

Does pet fishes count? Haha. I have a large tank full of fishes that I simply adore. I could just spent watching them swim and pick pebbles and throw from above with joy. They are the cutest even though I have been told it's weird to think that fish are cute. I would love me both cats and dogs because I like them both equally. But I can't get them until I move out of my parents house. So those fishes are my everything. I have a fat blood parrot, pond kois, cichilids etc.

Had 2 kitten that I raised myself until one day they went missing. It was the one of the most depressing moment of my life.. I can't wait to bring one or 2 home someday.
