You guys, I'm in Colorado in this tiny town. There was a mouse in this ranch house we are staying in. I accidentally STEPPED on him with my sandal and he might die. I feel awful. Is this a big deal?

I hit a gopher with my car when I was 19 and I still think about it and feel bad about it ten years later. But these things happen. Unfortunately we can't save every living thing.

I accidentally ran over a bird recently. I felt bad at first, but I believe that we only die when it is our time. Just my opinion. ((HUGS)) Sorry you feel bad about it.

I'm sorry. That's traumatic. I hit a bird with my car last week and am still seeing it hit the windshield and knowing that at that speed and angle there is no way he lived.
You are a caring person.

He just died. My boyfriend wrapped him in a towel and we are going to bury him tomorrow.
I took a Klonopin. This town, I swear. There are more animals than people here. Which is awesome until you kill one, ugh. Now I'm worried about snakes. I'm scared of them. The irony is that my boyfriend's dad is going to be thrilled. This is his ranch we are staying at and a mouse had gotten into this ridiculously pretentious Mercedes RV on the property...bf's dad set mice traps in it! But no mice. Until now. Boyfriend and I were sitting on a couch talking about Pokemon Go of all things (will we EVER grow up?) and I felt something under my sandal. Boyfriend had a bag of Cheetos on the coffee table. I think that was the destination but I apparently was the final pit stop. We don't have mice commonly where we live. They are prevalent here and considered vermin. He's so tiny. Thanks you guys ![]() |

I'm so sorry, what an awful thing to experience. I grew up in the country, and one of the reasons I prefer the suburbs is the way you have to deal with animals in the country. You kill the mice, gophers, raccoons, deer, etc. so they won't eat your crops and whatnot. I just can't handle that.

Thanks. I still feel terrible about it. I've stepped on ants before. I've gone fishing but we ate the fish. But that's it.
I'm a city girl - so not used to mice around. I almost typed "underfoot." ![]() Oddly, I saw a skunk in the road yesterday that had been hit by a car. I thought it was sad but the mouse unsettled me. 'Tis the circle of life, I guess. And he's getting a funeral service tomorrow. |
