I'm considering going into the ER for my bipolar problems. I know they'll send me where I need to go. But I was wondering about how to pay? I know they come in and get your information, but I'm still on my parents insurance and I have no way of paying. Can I pay later on or what?

They won't do anything but take your information at the hospital. They'll bill it to the insurance and then bill you for whatever your part is later. The ER doesn't expect payment at the time of service. I didn't have to pay my ER co-pay until later any of the 4 times I've been to the ER for different things and a lot of the time if you are admitted you won't have an ER co-pay, just your regular hospitalization co-pay/deductible.

If you need to go, then go. If you have your parent's insurance information then that's all the hospital needs to have to bill. But I wouldn't put off a visit for money concerns. Best of luck to you and I do hope you get the treatment you need.

I was just in the ER last night for my mom and they came in for billing information. So I don't know what to do there. I plan to have a friend take me. I have no idea about our insurance stuff.

tbh if you are at a point where you need the ER. worry about paying later.
Your life and wellness is worth more than whatever the hospital bill may be.
