Yesterday my pdoc put me on Nuvigil in an attempt to help me stay more alert through the day. The fact that it is also marketed as an antidepressant, is beside the fact. However, my experience with it in my system feels reminiscent of the Adderall, a bit twitchy and bouncy through the afternoon and very restless when I tried to sleep. So I want to ask: What is your experience with Nuvigil?

It helped me to stay alert and focused during the day but I took only half a tablet instead of the whole thing.

I took Nuvigil for a couple of years in order to counteract daytime drowsiness. I found myself more alert but not twitchy. The funny thing is a year or so after I came off the nuvigil it was discovered that I had ADD.... so my reaction to the drug isn't typical. It just steadies me, as Adderall does, and helps me focus.

I'm highly against taking stims for BP. They ruined my life and when I quit taking them I got severely depressed and mixed and lost my job. Never again. Good luck though
