What do you do when your paranoid schizophrenic friend is so delusional and won't believe it?! It's killing me! And yes I get the same feelings when I see some of you on here having delusions. I'm frustrated. I know none of you can help me or know what I can do but I'm so upset right now I have to get this out. A friend I met on here is telling me right now about how his phone is bugged. The government is doing a top secret experiment on his family. His sister is sick too. She ripped out the radio in her car thinking there was a camera in it. I'm begging him to get to a pdoc but he's convinced that psych meds are a part of the government destroying his DNA. I'm blue in the face telling him to please seek help. Then he says to me "you're having BP delusions because I'm right and you're wrong". Ahhhhh!!! I want to reach through the phone and choke him! (Not really but you get it). The only family members of his that I can get Into contact with is his sister and she's as sick as him maybe worse from bad drug use. I don't know what to do. I ask him "ok what makes you different that the government wants to take over your life?" He avoids that question. I don't know I guess I'm just venting right now. And no he's not a member here anymore and doesn't come on here so I'm not worried about him seeing this. I just wish he would believe me and see that he's sick. He's not in any kind of mental health program right now and he refuses to get help. Right now I'm just letting him talk and tell ME that IM the crazy one. Ugh he's my best friend and I'm just so sick of it and worried. I wish he'd believe me and get helpFriend is out of control. Won't seek help. What more can I do?!

I'm sorry there's nothing you can do besides calling for a wellness check.

He just made me swear that I wouldn't call on him. Besides he is capable of acting normal. We had a falling out before and he was really bad. Like if I told you the things he was doing you'd do what I did too. And I called his pdoc office and left a msg. After calling the cops and they told me they couldn't do anything like wtf?! He was doing very bad things. Stuff that makes Hannibal lector look decent. I'm so worried.

So you just have to wait. Does it come in phases or will he continue to go down hill?

In all honesty, I would protect my marriage and my household from the effects of ongoing drama. I would not allow this person to upset my life, as it would not only affect me, but also my family/household.

If the friend does not want help, save yourself.

Thanks for this!
