I watched the first few seasons and loved it. Since you just started watching, I won't give anything away by discussing it. Enjoy!

Great show. I did think it was ridiculous at the beginning when they just stuck her on clozapine. Since she was getting it on the sly there was no one to even take regular testing-- unlikely her sister would give her something so potentially dangerous.(And really, where would the sister get it? It's a drug they closely monitor.) Also they had given no reason to think Carrie was intractably psychotic. And if nothing else Carrie would likely have been fat too; clozapine is well known for causing great weight gain. I always wonder what psychiatric professionals they have to supervise these things. (Gee, can you tell it bugged me?)

But they did change her to lithium later on, which made a lot more sense.

I like the portrayal of bipolar on this show the best -- including movies. Carrie has discrete episodes of high and low mood like i do. But overall it's too violent for me. They go too far.

Love it. Very accurate portrayal of a highly manic/psychotic individual. I have been there.

She does such an amazing job portraying the condition, it's hard to believe she doesn't actually have it. Her eyes bulge out of her head, and the energy she has is so convincing!
