Ever since I started Latuda my mind has been very slow, dull, even brain dead. It may also be due to the severe mixed episode I went through so I am wondering if anyone else has noticed their cognitive function decrease on Latuda.

My mind feels so numb, ideas don't come and my memory is terrible. It is really effecting my studies. I am experiencing some depression right now so maybe it's that too but I've never felt so dumb before. I hardly respond to posts here cause I can't think of what to say. My brain is empty. This is really impacting my life. I tried Prozac but it made me mixed. T says it may be the Latuda but I am not sure. I have been through so much, maybe my brain broke.

Currently I am on 80mg of Latuda, 750mg Lithium, 40mg Ritalin and Clonazepam

I've never been on latuda but I can say that geodon did the same thing to me. It was terrible. When I got off of it (because it wasn't helping depression), my cognitive function improved immediately.

Any drug can affect your brain the way you describe and it varies greatly from person to person. Latuda never bothered me but Trazodone made me a zombie, so yes Latuda could affect your brain. Talk to your pdoc about stopping and/or switching to something else.

I haven't noticed my brain slowing down on Latuda. Topamax, though, turned me into a drooling pile of goo. Everybody is different, I guess.

I take Latuda and I feel the same way. It's incredibly frustrating. I feel like an idiot all the time and it's affecting my work.

Thanks so much for the replies. I'm going to drop my dose for a couple of days then stop it and see how I go. It was given to me for depression and isn't working anyway. I need my brain back. See my pdoc in two weeks and I can let him know how it goes then. Really hope this works.
