What are your depression triggers? (I suppose I should put a trigger warning here to be safe...)

I can figure out my hypo/mania triggers (sort of), but I cannot, for the life of me, figure out my depression triggers!

Obviously the loss of a person, loss of a friendship, loss of a sentimental item, etc. will trigger depression. (i.e., any kind of loss.) That's kind of obvious. But I'm looking for less obvious triggers because I've been getting lots of short depressive episodes that last 2-3 weeks and I'm sure at least some of them may be triggered?

My major trigger for depression is loss/grief of people/pets.

Maybe a lot of stress will cause a mood shift, either depressed or hypo.

I haven't found any triggers for depression. I just wake up feeling like ****. The only one I know about is winter. If I could skip from November to April I would be much happier.

Triggers? Loss/grief, stress, and PTSD. And sometimes depression shows up just for the heck of it.

Winter. I just live from day to day in the dead of Winter. I don't feel that well at the height of Summer, either. I don't like temperature extremes which is hard because i live in Ontario. I am so ready for this Summer to be OVER.

Weather, hormonal, having come out of a hypomanic or manic spell. Other times something situational, and then I will spiral out of control.

Sometimes just bipolar.

Spring. As the sun is out more and more and it gets warmer and brighter, I have a tendency to get depressed. A lot of people get winter depression, I'm the opposite.

major life changes, positive or negative. A move to a new house or apartment, starting a new job, quitting an old one, ending a relationship on bad or good terms, etc.

Sometimes just because.

My depressive episodes tend to last a minimum of 3 months though. They tend to be long. I've had one last a year.

Also, sleep changes. I don't know if that's a trigger or a result though... same with hypomania. hmph.

Late Winter/Early Spring often brings on depression for me with boredom, being cold all the time, and just not having much energy. I tend to get depressed immediately after hypomania or mania, but I also get some break through depression at random times. Of course, life events make things worse, such as a losses, too much stress at work, or issues in relationships. Sometimes those changes make my moods more mixed though at first, then it turns into a depressive episode. Alcohol isn't good for me either.

I get seasonal depression in the summer. That's a huge trigger for me.
