I've been known to smash telephones. I even threw one across the street one time. Yet again today (after frustration with an idiot yesterday) , I called a well known electronics product company's tech support number. I might add that this company makes good products, but has extremely negative tech support reviews all over the web. A few weeks ago I called the public librarry and got the name and number of the CEO. I got another tech number there, which worked a few times. Yesterday and today, the so called techies I got were creative story tellers -- fiction, fiction, fiction about what would work on my unit, when I KNEW that what worked before worked and they are telling me it never did. I'm boiling inside. Red steam is coming out of my ears like the
Wicked Witch of the North in thte Wizard of Oz. "I'm mellllltttiiiiiiiiinnnnngggg........." Any suggestions? I'm fortunate to have a REAL computer guru to help me, but he charges a lot of money.

Can you withhold a monthly payment - like if you pay for license rights or service work, in case they don't do what they are supposed to?

Can you pay on a corporate card, dispute the charge due to lack of service and get a chargeback?

Do you have a month-to-month contract in case you want to terminate? Tell them you want to schedule a date time when they can pick up all their equipment for good and lose your business?

Can you file a complaint with The Better Business Bureau? They will have to respond and likely will give you a monetary settlement. Those complaints are public record. Looks bad for them.

You may have a govt run consumer agency where you can file a complaint. That's more serious for them. They will perk up.

Call their supervisor or your rep contact and lay it on the line.

Buy a Nerf Ball Bazooka Gun and blast them lol

Hi rainyday107, Thanks for your response. This is the thread I was talking about in the PM I just sent you. I forgot to subscribe to it, but now I will. I'll write in bold underline between you comments.

Can you withhold a monthly payment - like if you pay for license rights or service work, in case they don't do what they are supposed to? I'll have to think this one over. Mostly the problems are with organizations that have a monopoly, and the piece of equipment/gadget I have is the only one of the kind anywhere.

Can you pay on a corporate card, dispute the charge due to lack of service and get a chargeback? On this one, I'll say this, with a big HOWEVER. "I am not a vengeful person. But I am directing revenge at some corporations, by quitting and going elsewhere. However, a Forbes Magazine research article reported on best and worst corporations for customer service. The article said phone companies and health insurance companies are the worst. Supermarkets and fast food places have the best customer service. I want to change phone companies, both the cell one and the land line, but the others I have tried to contact are even worse with their customer service. However I did change banks to one where a live person answers the phone, and they treat me well.

Do you have a month-to-month contract in case you want to terminate? Tell them you want to schedule a date time when they can pick up all their equipment for good and lose your business? I've already got that one down! My cell contract is over, and I will never sign another phone contract - and why? Because their service can drastically change for the worse at any time.

Can you file a complaint with The Better Business Bureau? My experience with the Better Business Bureau in my area is that they are wimpy. They do not help at all. They will have to respond and likely will give you a monetary settlement. Those complaints are public record. Looks bad for them.

You may have a govt run consumer agency where you can file a complaint. That's more serious for them. They will perk up. I do! A lot! I've had good results.

Call their supervisor or your rep contact and lay it on the line. I'll see if this applies in any of my cases.

Buy a Nerf Ball Bazooka Gun and blast them lol I still like the idea better, of smashing the phone or hammering a hole in the wall. Not really, but I do it mentally for sure.
