For me, it's 90% online, 10% in person.

While I don't have any family members or friends I can depend on, I do have a therapist who supports me.

Online for certain. Without people like yourself, who's been a tremendous support, I honestly don't know what I'd do.

Isn't online real life? 😀 my wife supports me to the fullest. My parents and siblings are learning to understand and deal with bipolar and mental illness in general. I have an amazing therapist and psych nurse as well. That being said, I'd say at least half of my support comes from reading posts on here even though I've posted rarely.

Most of my support is online. Although I have a pdoc and T, along with a supportive husband, they don't have bipolar that I'm aware of. It helps knowing people who get it.

On-line. I have no off-line friends, and my family have their own problems and lives.

Most of my support is online.
My husband and his family are supportive and kind.
My pdoc is my therapist and he is supportive and kind, too.

95% on-line and even that is mediocre at best, I only feel quasi-supported here on PC.
The other 5% comes from wife.

I don't have anyone in my offline life who understands. I don't know anyone online, but I am glad to read posts by people who likely understand.

Most of my support is online

Papa bear is supportive - and is the kindest person I've known IRL

I have not had the greatest therapists and pdocs (in the uk )
Apart from one private pdoc ... At least he "did no harm"

Mostly here. I've pulled away from family and friends so it's my own doing. I see my new T and pdoc in a week. So maybe things will start looking up.

Offline. I've got an A.A. sponsor, a therapist, a friend I met in I.O.P, more N.A friends, my Mom and sister. I don't pay much attention to who's who on here, I think I'll try harder to make this more of a support. It pales in comparison to having a real friend though.

I have family who don't understand though think they do.
hubby is somewhat supportive.I have some friends who really get what I am going thru. One friend in particular because she is bipolar and codendant as well.
So have been sharing more with her.
I have a lot of on line forums that I post on. It is very hard to keep up here as it is so big and overwhelming. I am trying .....

Offline. My husband and my adult kids support me when I am manic and also the hospital. No offense but I am going to try my best not to come here if I ever go manic. Really even though you guys are bipolar, NOONE needs to see me when I am as psychotic as I get. Sometimes I get mean other times I am just way out there and there is no reasoning with me. I would just embarrass myself or get banned from the board if I came here manic. So sorry guys I don't think you can support me with my mania. Only the hospital really can.

This forum has been a godsend for me. It's a place where I can talk with others whose thinking is as messed up as mine, yet I don't get judged. Offline I have people who try to understand, but since they've never walked in my shoes they'll never truly be able to.

Thanks for the topic.
