I'm shocked at how quick my 20s flew by. I'm regretful and sad. Every year gets shorter and shorter it seems. And my dad is mentioning grand kids *gag* lol

Yeah ... my thoughts to the other day, although I'll be pretty glad to kick 2016 in the butt ... been the worst year ever

It has gone pretty quick. Though I haven't done much so it feels like another year of the same old thing.

I feel like I missed out on summer 2016 because the flood of June 23 has changed everything. My county is still in a state of emergency. The bridge to the plaza where my son worked has still not been rebuilt so he is still on unemployment. It seems that all I do is related to the flood. I got my denial letter from SBA today so now I can file my appeal with FEMA. I am going into town tomorrow to apply for donation of insulation. I still have not got estimates from contractors because the damage is so widespread that they are overwhelmed. I will be so glad when I get my plumbing repaired so I can wash dishes again; I am tired of sandwiches and microwave food and it is so much more expensive to eat since I cannot cook normally.

Now autumn is here and I need insulation and I need my damaged ductwork for my HVAC replaced. It will be cold soon and it is going to be difficult to heat my house. The only part of "normal" I have had since the flood was going out of town to a wedding in August. Being in a hotel with a functioning toilet and shower and being around people who were doing normal life things for four days was a welcome relief.
