we have all done this as a kid (even now), stuff we shouldn't have eaten or drank, but we did anyway

does anyone have some stories of strange stuff they have put in their mouth?

some of mine are:

clay

a metal key (spat it right back out)

an entire science experiment drank from the test tube itself

small peace of gravel

I put a coin in my mouth when I was like 5. That's it.

When my sister was 2, she put a ladybug in her mouth and refused to spit it out. My mom had to hold her jaw open and dig it out. She started crying when my mom got rid of the ladybug.
Thanks for this!

If you're craving odd things it's called pika and is from a vitamin or mineral deficiency. But there's times especially when little that I was just curious. Like play dough. I just loved the texture really. Anything gum like, I'd chew. Silly putty is a good one too lol.

Frog legs and I ate some sort of woodland creature when I had dinner over at a friends house when I was a teenager. They said it was a possum but I have no idea. I just ate a little bit to be polite but man was that hard to do. I also ate Lord knows what when I was stationed in Korea. Lots of mystery meat there for sure.

I used to take care of people who had pika and it is so difficult to manage. They would eat cigarettes, coffee grounds-anything!

Before I became a vegetarian, I ate haggis. It's one of those things people consider strange, but tastes delicious.

I Had alligator once. I remember it wasn't cooked right so it was rather rubbery. Also some ostrich jerky. It was some place that sold all these different kinds of animals as jerky.

Library paste, when I was a kid. Also bear meat (which is greasy) and frog legs (which taste really "swampy").

I once ate 30g (I think, it was one of those small packets) of nutmeg. It was terrifying & I was lying on my bed (age 17) unable to get up, thinking my parents would be waking to find my dead body in the morning, 100% do not recommend!

Less weird but I also love dried pasta & just simply eating ice cubs.

Not all of these I've actually swallowed, but here goes my list of things that I've put in my mouth or eaten.

The ink from an ink pen when I was 10yrs old, needless to say I was sent home from school, and my puke was pink.

Ate a hole in my sweatshirt when I was 7yrs old.

My hair

Paper, whether regular, or toilet paper

Put necklaces in my mouth (still do that actually), I should buy chewable jewelry

String, had to take all the string out of my hoodies, cause I'll chew on it.

Put toy cars, and Barbie dolls in my mouth and chewed on them

Not strange per-say, but I'll swallow gum

The sticks on suckers/lollypops

Chewed on my glasses

Cell phone charger Ive chewed on

Dirt (it was a dare, I also licked a tree)

Dog treats (my older cousin told me they were good), they actually weren't too bad

And I'm sure there in more, I just can't think about it off the top of my head. I might be a little messed up lol

I was thinking nope, nothing odd (though reading through, since elk and moose come up, those, yes. Deer's a given.).

But then I remembered while in high school trying to eat a dog bone (Milk Bone kind) Drunk at the time. Spat it out in the sink. It was gross!

And not me, but amusing... An uncle came by to visit, sat on the couch, and reached over to a bowl on the side table to snack. It was crunchy cat food! Lol. Apparently that's not tasty either.
We laughed so hard.

Wow, just occurred to me those happened in the same house! What strange force brought the eating of pet foods upon us?!
