their was a thread here not so long ago about sounds we couldn't stand.

but what about fun/ enjoyable sounds. sounds we can tolerate

some of mine are:

a cat's meow/ purring

a choo choo train (not the whistle, but I love it when it moves along the tracks) it just has a really good Rhythm to it.

tigger/ elmo (they are both just so cute)

birdies singing

running water
Thanks for this!

The sound of my computer starting up and actually working.
My wife's voice.
A door closing on a new car.
The sound of my keyboard because it means I am writing something instead of constantly reading.
A new episode of South Park.
Laughter (sometimes).
Thanks for this!

Sound of rain hitting the roof of my house, it reminds me of the rainy days back in high school because our classroom were part of the prefabs (basically a prefabricated set of classrooms outside the main buildings) and the roof was so thin you could hear almost every raindrop during heavy rainfall. And also because we are in a severe drought so the rain helps

Rain in general but the best is when it hits something metal.
Any type of tapping especially on wood
The sound of a classroom that's completely quiet except the noise of students writing on paper
The clicky noise dogs' nails/claws make when they walk on hard floors
Noises of a forest, like birds and rushing water and sticks breaking
Chalk on a chalkboard (not when it squeaks though!!!)

I challenge anyone to use chalk on a board without it squeaking.

I'd find it impossible

The laughter of my children.
The waves at the beach.
The sound of seagulls.
The clanking of a sailboats rigging in the wind.
The sound of a screaming fishing reel.
Running water.
Rustling leaves.
The sounds of whales.
Water lapping against almost anything.
