Can latuda and seroquel be taken together? My next pdoc app I want to suggest switching to latuda from zoloft. I would be on: lithium, seroquel, latuda, and valium. Is this a good combination?

Only your pdoc can really help you in knowing what a good combo is because everyone responds differently. I hope it goes well!!

I know Seroquel is an antipsychotic and have tried it but had horrible side effects. Latuda treats Bipolar Disorder Depressive Type. I have also heard that Latuda has been taken for symptoms of Schizophrenia. I am not a doctor and am not on Seroquel or Latuda. Soooo.... this post is kind of worthless. But have been on Lithium ( I had severe tremors and made me severely depressed and eventually overdosed on it, in a suicide attempt). Valium has never done anything for me. I have Schizoaffective Disorder with the Schizophrenia usually occurring when I am hypomanic to manic. Stress will make your symptoms worse, this I know for sure. Much love and peace.

I agree with Halliebeth, but also, Latuda made me drowsy. (It makes some people drowsy, some people not.) Seroquel and Latuda could make you sleep forever if Seroquel happens to be very sedating for you.

I'm just wondering because latuda is listed as an antipsychotic and so is seroquel. Can you take 2 antipsychotics?

Yeah, you can take 2 APs.

Some APs like Latuda and Abilify mainly target depression, whereas APs like Seroquel mainly target mania. So in theory, taking Seroquel and Latuda together would help with both depression and mania.

But of course, Latuda and Seroquel individually help with both mania and depression. It's just that Latuda doesn't necessarily help a lot with mania and Seroquel doesn't necessarily help with depression.

It all depends on the person, though.

Yes my pdoc had me on both before. Latuda made me sleep and violently throw up for a few days. And it didn't help anyway.

I take Latuda, Wellbutrin and Seroquel. However my understanding is that Seroquel is not an AD, but in fact is an anti-psychotic and is to be used in conjunction with an AD.
