Do you feel your pdoc has ever taken advantage of you? What about previous pdocs?

I feel like my old pdoc took advantage of me. He kept pushing brand name drugs which did not have generic counterparts, and it pissed me off because none of those brand name drugs worked well for me. I think he knew I didn't have much of a choice. It was either take what he prescribed or walk out the door -- but sometimes it's hard to walk out the door when your doctor knows your history better than anyone else. Plus, when you're in the midst of an episode, what can you do? It's hard.

I ultimately ended up walking out on this guy because he really irritated me.

I had a pdoc who desperately sucked. I really felt he let me down, and I left. He wasted a year and a half of my life. They don't always get it right. I felt like I didn't get much of a say in my med treatment with me.

I had a PNP who was pushing benzos for my anxiety. I ended up stoned but still anxious. He kept giving them to me even though I flat out said I didn't want them. I left him for my current pdoc after he and my gp butted heads over which med I needed to discontinue for something.

I had a pdoc that used to be a terrible listener. I was in and out of the office: even when there was a significant issue. She just couldn't be bothered and barely ever asked any questions. She would cut me off. I think she just wanted quick money.

I heard a former drug sales rep talk about how doctor are compensated for pushing new meds on patients which it sounds like is what happened to you. Here's an article about if from Business Insider:
