|
I just got diagnosed bipolar 1 during a stay in the hospital. I was prescribed abilify, and the dr said it was being used for multiple reasons including anti psychotic and mood stabilizer. Does anyone have experience with ability particularly it being used for multiple reasons st same time? Thanks

APs can also be used as mood stabilizers. That is what my pdoc is doing now with having me on Latuda. I've also taken mood stabilizers and APs separately. I was taking Abilify with Depakote. Abilify didn't do anything for me, though. |

Personally I was on Abilify for both mood stabilizing and psychotic reasons, made my insomnia worse (too activating at higher doses), but it did help my mood a little and anxiety a little. So yes APs can and are used for multiple reasons. Hope.this helps.

Welcome.
I take Abilify during the day to act as a mood stabilizer (seems to work for depression an mellowing me out so I'm not so irritable), and I take Seroquel at bedtime to sleep. I haven't been on them long either (I just got out of hospital as well), however they seem to be a good combo for me. Good luck to you!
