I'm currently on:
-450mg lithium 4 times a day -10mg valium 3 times a day -seroquel 200mg once in the evening -zoloft 200mg once at night I'm not sure if I'm liking this combination. I'm still hearing voices and having racing thoughts. It is better than before since my visual hallucinations went away. Anyone have any luck with these meds? I might get seroquel upped to 400mg next visit. I also want to try latuda, anyone have anything to help with that? When do you take it? I'm also worried about the cost. I'm 23 and still on my parent's insurance. The seroquel is $45 itself. the rest are around $5-$15. This all adds up. And if I do get on latuda it'll be $15 more for a year.I'm not sure we can afford all these meds.

Everyone reacts to medication differently. That said, Latuda works very well for me. Raising your Seroquel dose might help you. Another med that has been quite helpful for me is Trileptal.

Thanks LauraBeth. I'll have to look into trileptal.

Could it be the zoloft causing it?

I'm not sure. I was on zoloft awhile back along with different meds and didn't have this problem.

Your only AP is Seroquel and it succeeded in ridding you of visual hallucinations, so it seems plausible that upping Seroquel will rid you of the voices you hear. I would try that first, before switching to Latuda, as Seroquel has already shown promise in you.
I did not realize that there is no generic for Seroquel still; these costs do add up. More Seroquel would not cost more, though. I have been told by one psychiatrist that Trileptal is for mild cases, but maybe it can work well in conjunction with a stronger medication, such as Seroquel. |

There is a generic for Seroquel. It's called quetiapine.

My pdoc said the generic is seroquel will just put me to sleep. I like the brand name one I'm on now. I take it after dinner and get sleepy about 3-4 hours later. I don't know if I'd want to switch. I found a savings card on the seroquel website, so that should help with the cost. 200mg is costing me $45. What do you think 400mg will cost?

I went on the official seroquel site and found a discount card. Anyone know if it works?

From my experience with insurance, higher doses of same medication do not cost more. So just based on my experience I expect it to be 45 dollars still for you.
