I have a therapist, but all she ever talks about is my anxiety. Should I ask her why we don't talk about my bipolar?

My old therapist only wanted to talk about my ex boyfriend. It got old.

Bring up your bipolar symptoms. Maybe you don't talk about mania or depression that much?

I write notes for each time I go. In them I've mentioned all things bipolar, but she just dismisses it and talks about my anxiety.

If your therapist dismisses you like that, then she's not a good therapist at all. Remember: you're paying *her* to help *you*. If she isn't doing her job, you have every right to fire her.

So personally, I would get a new therapist. Sorry she's being this way
Thanks for this!

I'm going to bring it up one more time and if she dismisses it again I'll find a new therapist.

I would say to her that you would like to talk about your bp. See what she does. I hope it works out for you.
Thanks for this!

I'm nervous about asking. It'll make me seem like I want attention. When all I really want are some useful tips on how to deal with everything.

Like Blue said, you're paying her for her help with your issues. If she's unwilling to help you with your bipolar issues, it's best to look for a therapist that will.
Thanks for this!

You're right. But like I said I don't want to seem like I just want attention when all I want is some help with my bipolar issues. My pdoc and T are both in the same office, so it'll be a little awkward if I drop her as my T.
