There have been some "where is" threads before, as you may know. Some might be a bit alarmist and some might be justified, but who's to know, especially with us nutters?

So I thought maybe it would be good idea to make one thread to let everyone together look out for some sudden, maybe wholly innocent changes in forum activity by some members without either embarrassing the person concerned and/or attracting undue attention, but to also look out for each other's safety and well-being. Just so no one goes under the radar, there's nothing to stop us from mentioning someone that concerns us, but not to be alarmist, embarrassing and boy-cries-wolf about it.

If you'll agree that might be a good idea: this is that thread.

Where is Ciderguy? I read his last thread and emailed him but no reply. I'm thinking the worst. So hard not knowing. Hope he is at peace. Wherever he is.

Where is ElsaMars?

I'm very concerned about her; yet figure she's doing whatever she needs to do to take care of herself.

(((( Elsa ))))

I truly miss her Presence on the forum.

i honestly don't like this idea

case in point:

"where is elsa mars?"

that's all well and good someone posting that they are concerned for her, but if people start posting here.. where is this person, where is this person, sooner or later.. the original person who wanted to know where elsa mars was is going to have to scroll through hundreds of unrelated messages, just to find the replies that are relevant

an individual thread concerning who ever it is would be better

or just scrap the idea entirely and if we're worried about someone, we just message them directly and hope for a response

(i believe someone mentioned a bipolar chat room, so we could use that)

I understand your concerns.

I feel people can decide which way they'd like to handle their concern and can use a thread and/or direct contact -- whichever method(s) they prefer. I don't think the purpose of this thread was to omit other methods of reaching out. Other options are also available to members.

Just my humble opinion.

Threads like this in the past were not allowed, not sure if there was a change.

Hopefully a Mod can let us know.

Pirilin and Ocean Swimmer have been known to be on here often at one time and not for long periods of time as well. Ocean came back for a brief period not too long ago.

There have been quite a few "where is" threads and I have never seen any being closed, deleted or moved. Maybe before my time.

It mainly had to do with privacy for a member, in case they are going silent for either self care or worried someone in there life online or offline was roaming PC "looking" for info or whatever.

At least that was the gist of what I was told 2+ years ago when I made a thread about a couple people who had gone MIA .

I was told to PM the person (s) and the thread was closed.

I haven't seen raspberrytorte for a few days now, which is unusual. Anyone know of a particular reason why that may be?

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
