I was finally starting to move forward with my life by registering for some online classes since I cannot drive. Then today my cat spills a whole cup of tea on my laptop. It doesn't work now and I don't have the money for a new one. Now I can't even complete my online classes. Sigh

I'm sorry that happened.

Can you try to find some ways to dry out your computer? I know you can dry a phone by sticking it in rice. It would take a big bag of rice (or 2) but maybe that (or something else) would absorb the moisture? I don't know but don't give up until you've tried to dry it out and are sure it is truly dead. I got a work computer wet once and it was salvageable.

I do have it in a bag of rice right now. We didn't have much rice, so it's only covering the side with the charger and USB ports. I'm hoping it's enough.

Did you take the battery out? I know that made a difference with mine.

My brother does computer repairs. I'll try to ask him tomorrow if he has any tips.

This is what I did when that happened to me

Use a strong sucking vacuum.. Go over all the keys, battery (take battery out) and in the entire battery compartment. Do this several times. That will draw the water out. Then, leave it in rice for a day or so. May fix it, may not, but that worked for me.

I took the battery out and vacuumed it out. They're now both in rice.
