I have been diagnosed with Bipolar II and was taking Depakote and abilify. I kept having BAD irritation/agitation to the point it was hard to function. I told my pdoc over and over that I had bad irritation/agitation and wanted to maybe try something other than Depakote. He wanted me to stay on Depakote but told me to stop taking abilify. That was the 7th of this month. I stopped taking it and the past week I have been down, wanting to cry, having horrible anxiety attacks. I cried to my husband and told him I feared I was getting depressed again. I woke up this morning wide open and ready to get the day started and full of energy however I don't want to take a shower, go to town, clean, or anything like that. It's the weirdest thing I've ever experienced. I am hyped but want to be lazy at the same time. I have to clean all the time to stay happy and to actually not want to clean is so weird. What in the world is going on? Has anyone else experienced this? Idk if I should call my pdoc and ask for depression medication or not.

I find some pdocs refusal to take agitation & irritabilty seriously completely unbelievable, it was my defining symptom but was consistently ignored imo. I can relate to feeling energised to do something but being lazy & not wanting to leave the house at the same time, I would just walk in circles becoming more agitated as the minutes went by. Do you have a prn?
