What are your random BP or MI thoughts?
Here are a few of mine: (1) Meds which are about to expire should be sold at a lower price. I mean, when you go to the bakery, day-old stuff which is soon to expire is sold at a discount. Even OTC meds which are about to expire are often sold on sale. (2) Why aren't generic meds ever put on sale? We have GoodRx and other companies which provide coupons, and a lot of pharmaceutical companies are now providing discount cards for brand-name meds, but why don't pharmacies themselves do it for generics? They can afford to give people a "1 time use" coupon. |

I'm no pharmacist, but med expiration is based on the diminishment of their chemical efficacy. Day-old bread is still nutritious, but expired meds might not work, and the FDA would never allow the sale of expired or near-expired meds.

Definitely not expired.
![]() I wouldn't be surprised if certain pharmacies were already selling near-expired or expired meds. No one is there to watch them 24/7, and you would never know. So, if you're going to do that, might as well put them on sale. Hand out coupons. lol. "LIMITED TIME SALE." (I'm joking of course.) |

I think these coupons and discounts depend on the drug co. I *think* they have to distribute the coupons via websites, magazines etc. There's also websites you can google that show you where your meds are cheapest! I have Medicaid so all mine is covered but in the past when I didn't have insurance, the pharmacy always helped me out when I told them my situation. I'm really not sure if the pdoc office offered the discounts or the pharmacist themselves (my pharmacy is in the doc office). It was so long ago I don't really recall. I really don't miss shelling out all my pay for scripts that's for sure!
