Just sitting here thinking about my life the last few weeks and how every little thing just sets me off on a tangent, then I seem to fall into a depressed stated. I meet with a new therapist this week and I'm hoping she can help me figure things out. My previous therapist tried to tell me I didn't have any MI and this was only about 3 weeks after she told me I needed to go into a PHP or IOP.
Today was horrible at work and I just wanted so badly to walk out. Everyone I talked to on the phone today just pissed me off and I could tell my speech was a bit slurred and I was speaking faster than I typically will. UGH. I am just sick and tired of being sick and tired all the time.

I'm sorry you are so confused. People have often told me I don't have a mental illness because oftentimes I'm completely free of symptoms. It's even nice to be told this sometimes but if they stick around long enough they do tend to change their minds about me. It really is confusing and I'm sorry it's a professional who is adding to your confusion....that must make it much more difficult. Have you explained to them your reasons for confusion? Your feelings are valid. (((Hugs))))

I'm sorry you're still not feeling well.
![]() For what it's worth, I think you do a good job of handling your symptoms and keeping your cool under immense pressure. Also, your previous therapist was a jackass. I hate when therapists try to diagnose you when they're not necessarily qualified to diagnose. (My first therapist tried to do this to me, and said that I "had never experienced depression before". Go figure.) |

Thanks everyone. I meet with this new therapist on Thursday, so we shall see how it goes. I feel like I'm caught in the middle somewhere and not sure which way to go. I can't seem to concentrate on anything and everything that I used to love seems to be slipping away.

I was misdiagnosed by a D.O. He said I had adjustment disorder caused by working in a stressful work environment. He pointed out my caseload was probably too high and I was being given deadlines that were nearly impossible to meet...all were true. He started me on a antidepressant and had me start seeing a therapist. I started to get worse and told the therapist that I was sure my dx was wrong. She told me that she looked over my chart and it was right....that the dx was correct. I continued to get worse and flipped to full mania and was then correctly dx by a pdoc with BP1. Afterwards I filed a complaint with the medical license board against the D.O. Then the therapist I went and spoke with her supervisor. In her case notes she noted I acted manic yet she never made an attempt to further help me. I file a complaint with the license board against her too. I flat told her I disagreed with my dx. Point being therapist do not know everything they "are not" a pdoc. The only person I listen to are pdocs. I know absolutely that I have BD 1. I'm not proud of it but it's something that I've accepted. I was stable for a good period of time. Now I'm under a lot of stress and the season has changed so I'm symptomatic right now

I hope things work out with your new therapist. It sounds like you can use someone to talk to about what's going on.

I'm hoping things work out with her, I hate bouncing around like a basketball from therapist to therapist. After our first session I feel pretty good, but only time will tell I suppose. I'll meet with her again next week.
