I don't see my pdoc until next week. I'm not even sure it works considering all the hallucinations and paranoia. But anyways it is the only thing that gets me to sleep. Also I'm worried about what will happen if I just suddenly go off of it.

Can you call your doctor and get more refills?

When I went off seroquel I first just stopped it without tapering and it was awful. I was so sick. It still sucked when I tapered, but I wasn't as sick as when I just stopped it.

So, if possible, I would get more refills called in.

Hugs, j.

I can try to call my doctor. But I have to wait until a day he's there. Plus I'm not sure if it'll work because I've tried before and was told to just wait for my pdoc appointment since it was close.

Everyone is asleep now so can't call th ER tonight. How does that work anyways?

My ER is 24/7 with a 24/7 pharmacy. I can call and explain I'm out of my AP and they would get a refill ready right away. I would need to pick it up or have a family member pick it up though. If things get really bad you can call an ambulance ((hugs))). I know you don't want to call an ambulance but if things get bad enough, pick up that phone and call. They will get you the help you need.
Thanks for this!

Get the mother trucking seroqual!

I went to the pharmacy and the same thing happened to me, we can't give you any more blah blah blah.
I said phone them, and tell them that a refill is much cheaper than a week in icu, which is where I ended up because I wasn't taking m meds right.
I said to the pharmacist I need those..... otherwise I'll probably end up putting my salary on 33 black or somethin stupid.
She said ok, I'll give you your meds, but I'll only process it once you come with you new script and what not.

But seriously, if you phone your pdoc, and they do nothing, it's time to find a new pdoc.
Also if you get admitted to hospital, all meds are usually provided for you, I don't know what country you're in.
Go to the ER tell them you're bipolar and you want to do something stupid, they have to admit you. Load some series or movies on a tablet or something and look at it as a holiday at a 3 star

I can't sleep without mine either, no sleep equals mania.....

Let us know how it goes

Thanks guys. I'll have my mom call my pdoc or the ER tomorrow. I wish I could do it tonight but no one is awake to go get them. I don't even know of they work at all. I guess it could be lessening my hallucinations. I didn't take it today and feel ok so far. I'll most likely be up all night though.

I definitely agree that if your pdoc won't refill its time to find a new pdoc. What kind of a doctor hears you're out of meds and says "oh just wait for your appointment in a week"? If it's just the office staff saying that they are super ignorant. That's ridiculous. Some meds can cause awful withdrawal.

I feel for you as I would be a hot mess without my seroquel. I won't sleep for days without it. How did you run out early anyway? Were you taking more than prescribed? My pdocs has a medication refill number incase we run out before next appointment.

Yeah i would do what i can to get some seroquel, for you can have some extreme discomfort a few days or so after your last dose. When withdrawal hits it is sometimes hard to get rid of, even with a reinstatement of the drug.

The problem is that there aren't many pdocs around here and I've already tried some of them. I like the one I'm at the most. Hopefully he won't ignore my request. Even though he might make me wait because he might change it to something else. I'll see though. I might just have to deal with the withdrawal. :/

I ran out because we had to keep pushing my appointment back due to my mom's work schedule.

Yeah I'm going to have my mom call. I hope I don't have to go through withdrawal.

My mom won't call the ER. She doesn't think it's that serious. Which it hasn't been yet but I'm afraid it'll end up that way.

Your mom doesn't get it. This is just not good in any way. Your mom needs your doctors to educate her. This is such a shame!!!

You need to call the ER yourself. Will your mom at least help you pick up the pills?
Thanks for this!

From my experience, an ER isn't able to give you medical advice or treat you over the phone. It's the law. Just keep an eye on your sleep for now and if you don't sleep then take yourself or get a ride to the ER.
Thanks for this!

I have such anxiety about the phone and never call anywhere, but I might try. I'm not sure if she'll be able to help me. She works late hours and sleeps A LOT (she has narcolepsy) I'll have to see. My sister has some old ones she doesn't take anymore at a lower dosage, but I was told not to take other people's drugs..

If I do end up having to go to the ER it'll be really hard to find a ride.. bleh

Walkin clinic , take your prescribed med bottles with you, most will at least give you a weeks worth to get you through.

Doing the whole ER deal is expensive and if you just need meds for a week, just go there.

No money for a cab, no buses or trains, no horses or mules haha. Living in the suburbs sucks. I really hope I don't have to experience that. It's been 2 days so far and my only symptom so far is no sleep and agitation.

Can your mom give you a ride? Does she know what lack of sleep can do to BP?? You should tell her what's going on and if you feel unwell then let her know you need a ride. At least to a drug store for some OTC meds for sleep. Better than nothing but you really do need your rest.
Thanks for this!
