So, after almost a week away, I'm back. Still struggling a bit with things, but at least the SIs have subsided. IP certainly wasn't what I wanted, but I think it's where I needed to be ultimately to clear my head.

Good you're safe. Please be careful. I've had relapses and have had friends released to early.
I know ip is yucky. Just use your coping skills.

Thanks everyone. It definitely wasn't easy, but most of the other patients made it more easy to cope with. I'll be starting IOP again next week.

Trust me, I was scared and afraid, especially the first 2 days. I was in the ER for 6 hours before they finally transferred me to the behavioral hospital.

It's especially scary when your support group is so far away.

So glad to hear from you.
Inpatient can be trying while also serving a healthy purpose.
Sounds like you were finally heard?

Yes, time to take care of yourself, kindly, gently, with understanding and appreciation. Self-compassion goes a long way in helping us to meet our needs.

That must be really tough. Are you with someone now, or alone?

Thanks. It wasn't as rough as I'd imagined, but still not a place I want to go again if I can help it.

Just got word that I've been denied for IOP. They really want me to go to PHP but I just can't justify taking that much time away from work.

There are needs and wants. You want to work, but do you need the PHP? That is the question.

But in general, you can't get fired from work if it's medically necessary. (FMLA.) If they do fire you, then you're about to hit the lottery because that's illegal and they'll be forced to give you a large payout.

Do what's best for you, though.

I don't have anymore PTO to use and I can't afford to not work. I'm going to have my psychologist and pdoc talk to the lady in charge of IOP and see if they can come to some agreement about me attending IOP.

Yeah, PTO is a tricky one. Sorry you're stuck in that sucky situation.

If needed, could you get a family member to help you out financially? Maybe your parents?
