I am having the hardest time concentrating and focusing at work. I am falling behind on projects. My T and pdoc want me to go IP again but I just can't. I have been in five times in the last 22 months and I worry about losing my job. I need to get these depression symptoms under control so that I can work.
Anyone else have this problem? |

I'm sorry you're going through this. There's no easy way and I know many employers are not sympathetic when you need time off. I hope you are able to get your symptoms under control in the least restrictive way possible.
I can relate to having trouble at work. I went IP at the beginning of the month and missed a week of work. I'm good at hiding my symptoms at work when people are watching so no one had any idea what was wrong and I couldn't say I was in a psych ward. My co-workers and supervisor were puzzled since I didn't "look sick" before being hospitalized. They kept asking nosey questions, trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I could probably use IP again but there's just no more time. I'm a full time intern so if I can't complete this year of work, all my schooling and debt associated with it would have been for nothing. I would not graduate and have a chance to start my career, but I don't think I can handle a career anyway. I've lost my sanity multiple times throughout undergrad and graduate school to get to this point. It's like yes I've made it this far, but now what? |

This is a hard one. Is there any chance you can go in early to have some uninterrupted time to work on projects?
Another factor that helps with depressive symptoms is exercise. __________________ Bipolar Type I | 40 mg of Latuda, 0.5 mg of Xanax | Diagnosed August 27 2013 |

I currently have intermittent fmla to cover me when I need to take a day or two off. Look into fmla for work, they don't have to know why your taking time off just that it's fmla time and you get 12 weeks
