Several years ago I started topimirate for migraines but I couldn't get the dose high enough because I was already so sedated I couldn't have more. But the tiny dose I was on helped with anxiety. So I stayed on it. But it seemed highly unlikely it was doing anything so with my pdoc's approval I tapered off the last 2 weeks. I stopped taking it Monday.

And after a few days then I've not slept well. I wake up in the middle of the night horribly anxious about stupid things, like Christmas presents for my hard-to-shop-for sister and BIL. Or many other things. Some are valid and this has been a very stressful week. But mostly I think it's the med change.

I don't know whether to stick it out a little longer and see if I adjust or go back on. The goal is to decrease my sedation a bit and it's done that, just not quite the way we hoped. I guess I'll have to email pdoc Monday but I may decide to just take it anyway.

Yeah, I'm going back on it tonight. Whatever it does it must do it and I don't want another night like the last few. I'm exhausted.

A good nights sleep makes for a good day for me. I think you are making a good choice.

I take 100mgs a night of Topamax to counteract the weight gain on Seroquel. I don't have any problems with anxiety or sleep.

I tried going off topamax, and had bad rebound anxiety. I had to go back on it. I hope you start to feel better soon.
Thanks for this!
