I'm really struggling here. My sensory perception is all over the place. I have spells where everything is far too loud, too colorful, too intense... whenever this happens I just go hide in my room under the covers. I can't figure out what's going on. In the past I had this with a mixed episode, but that's not happening right now. I'm sleeping 12+ hours to avoid this awful feeling. I know I also get psychosis/anxiety with depression, so maybe that's what's happening. My fiancee is wondering if I'm having migraines without the headache.

Help, anyone?

I am sorry that you are struggling.
could you place a call to your therapist if it gets bad?
Maybe you could see them this week or least talk to them over the phone.
There could be something physical going on....
glad that you have some one to love in your life.

I'm seeing my doctors Tuesday and Wednesday, so hopefully they'll have some solution.

Sensory migraines are a possibility. My wife has them where she'll get tunnel vision and start to lose sensory input, with no accompanying headache. Might be worth a conversation with your GP.

I am sorry you are suffering from this.

Sensory overload has been a topic here repeatedly.
in the past, many members have commented on this type of experience.
A forum info search will likely turn up more threads on this topic.

I find sedating meds helpful.

I get really sensitive to sound when I'm mixed and it makes me cringe. I have a cockatoo that screams for attention (literally, screams) and I go absolutely ape ****. It makes my nerves boil. So yea it sounds like you're feeling what many people feel during an episode. Try and sleep it off. That's what I do.
