If you can afford the initial investment, I use rechargeables! Or, your player might have a power jack so you can have power from the wall.

It does have a jack but didn't come with a plug

If you look closely at the jack, there might be a DC Voltage number printed there. If not, look at the info that came with it or give me a model number and we will figure out what you need. AC adapters are typically inexpensive...and maybe you already know that.

Edit: Also, is that a power input or an earphone output jack?

Look for sale on batteries and buy good quality. Rechargables do make sense. I don't think they last as long as regular batteries but they are reusable, so it makes up for the charge not lasting as long.
