I think this is part of the so what, nothing will help feeling.
Or being deliberately destructive.
Since Jan. So maybe I'll quit in Jan.
I hate to admit this, but it does seem to relax me.
But I'm sure deep breathing would too!
Anyone smoke? I don't smoke pot or drink though.

I smoke. I really like it. Have to quit though. I don't want an electronic voice when I get older! It relaxes me too.

I smoked for 30 years. I have just gone to vaping (3 weeks now) I still do crave a cigarette at times but I am determined to quit, I have saved a fortune already.
Thanks for this!

Yea I've been vaping for two years now and saving a fortune on cigarettes. One bottle of e-liquid last me a week and my lungs are clearer and I still get the nicotine i crave with berry flavors. I only have a vape pen but i want the big ones that give out a room of smoke and less nicotine. the vape pen only puts out so much smoke so i'm on the 24mg now but once i get the machine i'll drop down to the 3mg. Good luck!

Today marks one month smoke free for me. I am vaping instead which I intend to quit as well once I get far enough away from smoking. I've been smoking off and on since I was 19. I wanted to quit before my thirtieth birthday in April so I can start a new decade smoke free.

In times of great stress it does relax me but it could also kill me so I figure I better stop. Plus I don't like being dependent on things.

My girlfriend uses a vape thing to smoke pot.
She loves it. Sneaking is easier too she said.
Maybe I'll try that when I first quit.
Thanks

I smoke like a chimney. Started a year ago due to a break-up. Don't know how to stop, I am waiting for them to put me on meds to get rid of some of my inner pressure. I quit the drinking and the drugs for the moment so I figured I could keep smoking for a few weeks more to release the pressure. Sometimes I really get hypochondric though. I also think it has some self-destructive thing to it.

I heard Wellbutrin is good for BP and people also take it to stop smoking.
I was on it for a few years, but like lots of meds , for me anyway, it pooped out. Stopped working.

I used cigarettes to cope and to solve complex problems at work, but I really wanted to quit. Here's how I did it.

Throughout the day, and especially while I held a cigarette in my hand I said, "Now that I'm a non-smoker, I will make better choices for my body and mental health." or "Now that I'm a non-smoker, my singing voice will return to optimum health." Then I conjured a positive feeling about my health. I imagined what it will be like to have that kind of life. Feelings are crucial for this to work.

I never tried to quit. That's the key, it cuts the negative feedback loop you create when you smoke. "You are pathetic. You can't even resist one cigarette." I just eventually started making better choices and stopped naturally. The science behind this is very interesting. I still say it throughout the day, especially if I have a craving.

I stopped 25 years ago but know if I were to smoke one I'd be hooked all over again.

But it's never too late to stop again. Good luck.

Resectly I have gone back to cigars after a tough day. This is very relaxing for me, but can be expensive. Last I smoked like this was 20 years. ago.

I quit smoking three weeks ago. It wasn't intentional. I got very sick with bronchitis and couldn't breathe so I wasn't able to smoke so I just sort of quit accidentally. Weird. However, my boyfriend has taught me how to dip. I am a graceless dipper. I have to sit up straight with several paper towels and an empty coke bottle. I can't do anything else except spit in the bottle. I make a mess. I can't keep it in my mouth more than a minute and I'm running to the trash can to spit it out and then sink to brush my teeth. It's rather an awful new habit and no one but him and you all now know about it. It does kill the nicotine craving and my lungs are clear but I know it's not safe either.
