What sleep meds are out there besides trazadone? I'm on restoril right now, but since I've had an increase in my new med of buspar, I'm having sleep issues. It takes me at least two hours to even start feeling tired after taking it; even when following my night routine of avoiding electronics and whatnot. Until now since I want feedback. I would like to figure this out before going back to work in January and my current pdoc leaves the practice. Thanks!

I was put on klonopin but it didn't mix well with the Abilify. Now I'm being taken off both! Med changes are the worst.
Thanks for this!

Gabapentin helps me sleep. Topamax seems to help me stay asleep; I tried to stop it recently and kept waking up worrying in the night for several hours. I take klonopin at bedtime but I think it just helps me calm down more than it puts me to sleep. And Clozaril completely knocks me out eventually if nothing else does. If I can't sleep I have exta gabapentin or hydroxyzine. When manic I use valium to top it all off although that hasn't been necessary since starting Clozaril.

Seroquel helps, but makes you fatter than a cow...I'm on Temazepam now. It helps.

If it takes you 2 hours to fall asleep, maybe take it earlier? I used to take ambien but it made me do weird things in my sleep. I sleep shopped on Amazon. Woke up with slices of cheese in my bed. I finally quit when my husband found me in the middle of the night falling down drunk. (I don't drink when I'm awake) it scared us both so bad that I immediately quit the ambien. Seroquel is the only thing that helps me sleep and I've tried just about all the AP meds. A low dose might help you. There is a weight issue, but that kicks in a higher doses.
