My friend wanted me to go to a bar with her so she wasn't alone when she wanted to meet this new guy. I went as a good friend. I hadn't drank in awhile. One thing led to another and we were both waisted. I slept in until 1:30. I woke up feeling like I wanted to die, and no hangover symptoms, just very depressed. I have been laying on the couch all day. I tried watching minions and wanted to cry through the whole movie. It reminds me of when I turned 21. Binge drinking and waking up sooo depressed. Oh how I never learn.

That happens to me too. I'll wake up hangover free but feeling dangerously depressed.
I suppose that's why they say you shouldn't drink if you have bipolar |

Drinking is exacerbated by my meds- alcohol's effects are made worse- so I try not to do it. But when I do I realize later why I shouldn't have! I hope you feel better.

I did the same thing, drank on Saturday night and spent Sunday severely depressed. It's happened to me the past three weekends. Though when I drink Friday night I'm not depressed Saturday. But I think I'm going to kick it for a couple of weeks to see if it helps.

One of the reasons I don't drink much, anymore. That and the alcoholism rampant in my family. Are you feeling any better, now? If you need to talk, I'm an open, non-judgmental ear. And a stranger, so you don't have to worry me judging you or seeing you at work the next morning for awkward conversation post-sharing.
Be well-er.

I'm the daughter of 2 alcoholics.
My grandpa and I get sick if we drink too much. So he said it was a gift so we'd never suffer from drinking problems. I agree. Alcohol messes with your meds. Is a depressant. Do yourself a favor and drink only juice at the bar next time.

Like someone mentioned, alcohol is a depressant. I know for me, lately, it's just made me really sleepy. I see no point of drinking if it's just going to put me to sleep and then wake up depressed. People with bipolar really shouldn't drink, it always makes us feel worse.
I do hope you get better soon though. (hugs)

I think someone told me once that alcohol depletes serotonin. Take some multivitamins....some extra vitamin C and drink lots of water. (((Hugs)))
