Pdoc told me "You're an anxious person" today. Isn't that sort of an insult? For a guy who likes to mince words - he avoids the word "psychotic" like it's the plague - it's strange that he would say something like that.

I was trying to tell him that I'm dissociating. I feel like I'm in a parallel universe and I'm stuck in here with some evil entity. He blamed this on anxiety and after really bugging him about it also paranoia. Then he tries to explain the paranoia could just be anxiety anyway, so that's that.

Whatever I'm glad he didn't want to up any of my medications, but what the hell is wrong with this guy. I tell him I'm getting signs from an evil supernatural entity and he tells me I'm an anxious person.

Seriously guys... does what I'm describing sound like an anxiety problem?

Well admitedly it sounds like paranoia delusions to me. It does not sound like dissociation to me however. That is more of a zoning out for a period of time. Often it occurs with a rather upsetting trigger like the fear of impending doom or of one's very life being threatened. For example, PTSD is commonly linked to dossociative behavior.

Now, to my understanding anxiety can in fact lead to paranoia and delusions. Is it possible your psychiatrist was trying to get to the heart of the matter. Treat the problem and not the symptom?

Maybe the anxiety is causing the dissociative mindset when it gets bad?

It certainly could be anxiety induced dissociation and paranoia. Do you feel anxious? Do you have any other symptoms that could indicate psychosis like the signs from an evil entity? That is a concern. Is this a new symptom? You are on a couple of AP, maybe she should have increased them.

Not a new symptom. I've had the exact same thing happen before... first I start getting signs from this evil entity, then it starts wanting me to hurt/kill myself. I really hope that's not where this is going.

That sounds serious. When are you seeing your doctor again? Really hope it passes rather than worsens. Keep us up to date on how you are feeling. We are here for you.

You told your doc about the evil entity, but did you tell him that it leads to you wanting hurt or kill yourself? That's serious. Are you seeing your doc again soon?

I can't remember if I told him or not. I was really trying to get him to take me seriously, so there's a good chance I at least tried to bring it up. We won't see one another for a couple of weeks because of the holidays. Thank you for responding!
