Did you sign up to this site before or after you'd been (correctly) diagnosed?

I signed up after because I didn't dare sign up before being on (enough) antipsychotics.

I was on a different support group online.
They changed the format and most quit. Then I found PC.
But I've been diagnosed BP for decades.

I signed up here b/c I wasn't sure about the BP Dx that my pdoc gave me. I had made a thread asking about it.

When I started having psychosis, I started to believe the Dx.

So yes, I signed up after my Dx
Thanks for this!

I registered a couple months ago when my mixed episode started. I was going on 9 months unmedicated. Soon after I was involuntarily hospitalized.

I signed up before, I still am not safely diagnosed but they say it is probable and seems to be a mix of bad childhood, bipolar and maybe borderline. Anyway I am here because I get explanations for things I have always wondering about and a lot of beautiful support here. I can really relate to many topics what makes me think my p and t might be right about the idea that there is something bipolar about me.

I signed up years after I was diagnosed. I went through the motions myself and really had no outlet. Thank god I found this site almost 5 years ago, it has been so helpful to me.

years after.

I signed up in 2012, someone suggested the site to me- and I remember going on it and thinking at the time... wow, how big is this site!

I actually didn't think i'd use it much (i'd be 1 of those people signing up and forgetting about it), but hey... here I am in 2016, still using it- even suggesting it to some people I know.
Thanks for this!

Years after and at first I avoided the BP Forum, I guess even though BP was my Dx I didn't want to believe it.

I don't remember for certain, but I believe it was right around the time of my diagnosis, maybe shortly thereafter.

About eight years after I was diagnosed. It was after I had my first ever psychotic break in January of 2015. I was freaking out about it and looking for answers, like can you have one mania (or whatever it was) induced psychotic situation and still be bipolar.

I never really believed I had bipolar until this past summer though. My pdoc at that time actually made me see that I had it.

I signed up as soon as I received my official diagnosis as I needed the support. My doctor had been toying with the BP diagnosis for months before until I got clearly hypomanic bordering on manic then depressed. My symptoms had been blurred before that by severe PTSD and very unstable living circumstances and a bad marriage.
