Was anyone diagnosed with Depression first then later found out that they were actually bipolar? I have my first therapy session in a few weeks and I have a feeling that's going to be the case with me. When I review the symptoms of BPD it seems they mirror some of my many issues (not all) but I also fit the bill for depression and seem to nail all the symptoms for that pain-in-the-neck disorder, too.

I am so confused!

Hi eccentricmind76,

I was first diagnosed as having a severe clinical depression but was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder II. Good luck with your therapy session - I hope it goes well and you're properly diagnosed so you know what you're dealing with. Many blessings, Etheria

Same here ... was treated for years for clinical depression.... but everything just kept getting worse... Finally my doc looked at all the symptoms that I had and what I had been to see him for and realized that I didn't have a bunch of little things going on...I had one big thing going on...bp.

Good luck with the T... be honest with him/her generally they will be there for you and listen to whatever you have to say...at least that is the way that my T is... really seems like he cares...maybe that is because he is getting paid to do it.
