I've been wondering: Do you think anxiety can trigger a manic episode, or does mania trigger anxiety?

During my last manic episode, I had bad anxiety. I was trying to figure out what triggered the episode, but I couldn't figure it out.

I'm basically really anxious right now because of an upcoming business trip to Europe. I'm trying to prevent mania from occurring because my manias are self destructive. Thanks

I don't think anxiety can necessarily trigger a manic episode. That being said, it can definitely be a symptom and something you want to keep tabs on while watching your mood.

Isn't all of this self-diagnosing tiring? I seriously get sick of constantly asking myself how I'm feeling. My brain is broken.

I'm terrible at figuring out my mania triggers.

I've got to give 2 presentations and I don't want to be manic during them, mostly because I start babbling about nonsensical, random things that no one can understand! lol

It's good to know it's not a tigger for you

I have a bit of overlap. When I'm anxious I lose sleep and my thoughts start racing. I also get less rational. That's a slippery slope for falling into mania.
Then when fully manic, I also get anxious and very paranoid

Sorry you're feeling so anxious, but I get it. I hate speaking in front of a group, no matter how big or small.

I too am still trying to figure what my main triggers are, especially when it comes to my hypo episodes.

Anxiety triggers many things.

I fiind stress can be a trigger, not anxiety by itself.
