I don't think it has anything to do with BP if it's not a part of a BP episode. If its persistent, as is your case, I would say that's just the way you are and there's no need to associate it with BP, only work to on it so it does not affect your relationships so much.

It can certainly be a symptom of BPD, I think, but you would have to have other characteristics, such as fear of abandonment, in order to fit the criteria for that diagnosis.

Irritability and agitation are classic bipolar presentations, in my experience. My old pdoc actually would not make a diagnosis of bp 1 unless it was present, that is how crucial she felt it was.
