Around age 15 I had what I believe was my first psychotic break. It all seemed to start with me being certain I was pregnant. I had had intercourse by this seemingly young age but it had been months, I'd had my periods as scheduled and had no symptoms or indication I was pregnant....yet still I was certain I was and this led to a series of very bizarre behaviors.
Over the years this has happened to me several times. I get certain I'm pregnant even though it's pretty scientifically impossible ....go into panics which lead to a variety of behaviors as a response to the terror it inflicts. I suffer for weeks ....being afraid and sure I am and finally cave and take a pregnancy test which comes up negative and I take a couple more for a few weeks and the panic eventually goes away. Is this a women thing that many experience or do you think this is delusional to a degree? Anyone else experience this or something like it? If I were a man, I'd know for sure I'm delusional but being a women I wonder if this is just something that happens to women. Thanks for reading. |

For me those times that I have "pregnancy scares" count as delusions.

That sounds familiar to me. Even with reliable birth control. I'd develop symptoms and be convinced I was pregnant. Sometimes I even got false positive hpts. That's when I had a mirena IUD.
