It's the weirdest thing. After months of unease, I had a pretty enjoyable day. Things have been gradually getting better since I started Lamictal a month ago, but the past two days I felt like myself, enjoying things I usually have interest in. I was worried I'd feel too flat or uninspired on an anticonvulsant but that doesn't seem to be the case to any terrible degree.

Best day in months. I figured I'd share since hearing when other people have gone through hell and then return to health, it makes me hopeful.

That is great news! So happy for you. It must bring you hope to have an enjoyable day. May this be the start of stability for you. Thanks for sharing. It is great to hear some good news. Is your Lamictal dose being increase further than 100mg? It is still low so you have plenty of room if you run in to trouble again. I wish you all the best.

Thank you! As far as I know, 100 mg is my target dose. I was even concerned it might be too high since the weeks on 50 mg were so much better than what had preceded it and the first 2-3 days on 100 mg were sluggish.

I did well on 10 mg of Lexapro for an entire decade. There were a few periods where I tried a few things to go along with it for a short time or a 15 mg dose, Pristiq, Topamax and Cymbalta but it was generally just 10 mg Lexapro. I never had a hypomanic episode until age 36 and other causes for it haven't been entirely ruled out. To be cautious, I was classified in bipolar. Thinking of myself in those terms and being treated along those lines is entirely new for me. :-D

I have found Lamictal to be one of the best drugs out there, and reading these boards confirms that.

I think given that you also take Lexapro, 100 mg does sound like the sweet spot. Very happy to read about your day and hope you will have more and more enjoyment to come!
