So this morning my bf woke me up because he got breakfast. And for the life of me I couldn't get myself to sit up. He had to physically help me. Then when I walked, I had to hold on to the furniture for support.

I'm on welbutrin, seroquel, vistaril, lamictal and kpin PRN. And no med has ever done this to me until I started the lamictal. So I'm going to start taking it at night. Anyone else get this symptom?

It might be helpful to check in with your prescribing physician?

I have balance problems with Lamictal, but I'm on a high dose and I was warned about it in the hospital when they increased it. I'm not sure there's anything to be done about it except to always be sure of where you are in space, and to be careful about getting up or turning around too fast. Even so, I've had a few falls and face-planted in church (of all places) on Christmas Day. I never seem to get terribly hurt though.

Sounds like low blood pressure, maybe orthostatic hypotension. Try to get your BP checked and in the meantime be really careful changing positions. I spent my entire career bugging people about this yet didn't do it myself when I was having really low BPs from a med combinatio. I knew it and didn't. I fell and tore 3 ligaments on one side, 2 tendons on the same side, my achilles and a ligament on the inside of the ankle. It led to major surgery and 6 weeks of bedrest while I kept my cast up in the air. So learn from me: Also get yourself adjusted before changing position and don't jump up an take off running without knowing if you are strudy!

Actually, I'm experiencing a similar problem. I happen to be on Lamictal, and have been on it for a while, but the balance problem I noticed became an issue when I went up to a higher dose of Seroquel. Come to think of it though, my Lamictal was increased only a few weeks before I started experiencing the dizziness.

The key for me is not to take my meds too late, or I stumble the next day, get dizzy, and almost feel that I'm going to pass out if I stand up too soon. Sometimes it's very hard to get up. I even had a blood pressure reading on the low side on one of those days.

So....I wonder if it's Lamictal in combination with Seroquel and/or Klonopin? It's definitely something to address with the pdoc.

Yes I'm going to talk to my doc on Monday. I'm titrating at 200mg now and I wanted to go to 300 but now I'm scared.

How many mg were you guys that got dizzy on?

And does it ever go away as you get used to a dose. There's times In public where need something to grab on it. Hope I never fall in public.

I was at 200mg for a bit but that's when I didn't keep to a regular schedule and would take it 4 hours early or 5 hours late etc.

It was so serious that I was weaving in and out of lanes. I pulled over and slept for an hour and a half, got back on the freeway and weaved again. I'm a safe driver and NEVER even drink. Even when I'm manic, I'm an excellent driver - probably even better as I can calculate distances and speeds more quickly. (Of course this could all be BP grandiosity, not sure...)

Anyhoo, I'm fine now at 300mg. No issues.

Honestly, neurontin is way worse for me in terms of dizziness; it's as if I'm drunk.

I did not have it on Lamictal, but had it on low doses of Topamax, which is also an anticonvulsant. I could not tolerate Topamax in the end.

Well I had my appt today and we went up to 300 because the side effects stopped. She did mention it was common. I hope I'll do good at 300 and stay at this dose.
