I assume I'm not the only one here who does so.
Occasionally I find myself alarmed by people's behaviours to the extent I wonder about their mental health. Sometimes I find myself thinking, 'well that person must be bipolar' or 'holy cow, could she be borderline personality?' I find myself thinking I recognise mental illness again and again. No, I don't think I am actually on the look out for it. It just seems to come to me. I have never had the where-with-all to ask the person if they are okay however. |

Yes. I can't help but notice if someone's behavior is indicative of a mental illness. For example I'm pretty sure someone I was friends with in high school has BPD.

Yes especially people who have undiagnosed high functioning Autism. I use to work in that field and feel I can spot it a mile away. If I'm in a mental health program of some sort I try and suss out everyone's diagnosis without talking to them just by watching them

Yes. Not intentionally but when something jumps out at me I can't help it. My husband and I were watching a news caster recently and both of us believed he was in manic territory. I diagnose fictional characters on TV often and I'm still trying to suss out what the women in the Grey Gardens documentary might have been suffering with. Trying to make sense of the world around me sometimes includes trying to figure out other people. Nothing wrong with it as I don't go around writing in their medical record or telling their colleagues. I keep it to myself or talk about it with my loved ones only.
