I've been dealing with elevated mood for about two weeks now. At one point it spiked into mania but since a med change I've been on the mend, mostly. What I can't seem to shake is a delusion I started having exactly a week ago.

Basically it's that I recognize total strangers. I went to a support group meeting and recognized more than half of the people even though I've never met them before. It's incredibly creepy. Since then I keep recognizing people briefly before I realize I don't know them.

It's really messing me up, messing with my sense of reality. I'm really creeped out by this.

Has anyone else had this delusion before? Tdoc says it's common with mania.

I also can't tell where I know them from, but my brain is sending me the signal... you 100% definitely know this person. Most people, actually. I'm sort of avoiding people at the moment because of this.

I had that delusion when i moved to go to university. I kept thinking i saw people from my hometown on campus. It went away tho. Hopefully yours will disappear soon too.

I see people who I think "I haven't seen them in a long time!". Then think "oh yeah. That's cuz they're dead.". But the person I saw looked just like them.
