This morning I had an appointment with a different pdoc for a second opinion and to see if we both wanted to work together. After my previous pdoc doing my head in with trying to covert me to Christianity after a history or being abused by Christians then more recently deciding he cannot treat me due to my different spiritual views and severe suicidality. Along with other things. Sigh...this new doctor is a breath of fresh air. He treated me with respect and without judgement. Asked good questions and concluded I have bipolar.

So, I am going to change to this new pdoc and kiss my last one goodbye so to speak. The new pdoc has a few ideas of med changes and I am open to working with him to find what's best for me. It is such a relief to have been referred to what seems to be a great pdoc first without having to dig through the crap ones. I am so happy to be free of my last pdoc and have the chance to start again with a skilled professional. The saga is over. I can rest now.

Thanks everyone. He and my T are going to chat which is great. My last pdoc refused to talk to my T. This new communication will be crucial to my treatment. My T thinks I'm still a bit hypo but I think I'm calming down. Seeing my new pdoc in two weeks. Then the med changes will begin I guess.

First of all, I'm sorry you had to go through such a negative experience with your old pdoc. He sounds like a real piece of work. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to be doctors!

That said, it sounds like you found yourself a wonderful pdoc. I hope everything goes well with this new one.
Thanks for this!

Thanks again everyone. I'm just so happy and relieved to be free of my crazy old pdoc and be in the care of a sane, skilled, respectful physician. I can't believe it. What a wild 10 weeks it has been since my last pdoc dumped me the day he discharged me after a psychotic manic episode. Sorry to repeat myself but I'm so relieved and hopeful right now.

So happy for you wander! I had to get a new pdoc about a year ago and its been great. My last one wouldn't try anything other than zyprexa for sleep. I gained 40 lbs on it. Now that I take trazadone, I've lost that weight.

I cannot believe your last Dr was letting his religion interfere with his profession. So sorry you had to go through that. Sounds like this new one will be a good fit.
Thanks for this!

What a miserable ordeal to go through, as you did with your old pdoc. I had a similar - though not as bad - situation with a pdoc. She was hardcore Christian, which I had no problem with, and very kind and gentle- it was just that she kept suggesting uber Christian books to me. That was annoying. I guess someone(s) complained about her, because she was let go from the clinic.

So I hope your new pdoc is excellent and helpful!
