For my anger some of it was legitimate anger. I have PTSD as well as bp. I felt it and allow myself to feel it. I talk to friends about it. I let it out in a constructive way. I don't take it out on ppl that don't deserve it. I used to tho.

Do you have a therapist that you trust?

I follow the ancient Lojong practices from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. I smile to my anger & breathe into it. I may even place my hand over my heart as a sign of my lovingkindness for & acceptance of it. After a few moments I drop the "story line" (the details of what it was I am angry about) & simply stay with the underlying emotion... whatever it is & allow it to fade of its own accord. It is a practice I learned from reading the books of the Buddhist nun Pema Chödrön.

Constructive and creative ways to release it. For me, it's writing/playing music. It's creating and reciting poetry. It's getting canvas and spray paint then doing graffiti art. It's shooting some hoops at the park. It's taking a long drive with my music blaring.

Everyone's different but these are mine.

I usually write it out until I'm exhausted. It helps quite a bit.
