I have a cold and since I have asthma my lungs are not good. I'm using a steroid inhaler (I generally don't use as directed (which DO approval) because the steroids are agitating and I'd rather be a little wheezy. But when I get sick, out comes the inhaler. And the breathing treatments that make me really jittery. So it's 1:45, I've had meds hours ago, I am hot from breaking a fever and I'm agitated.

Sometimes I really want to go back in time to the day I caught whooping cough, which caused my asthma, and called off sick or something so that I didn't see the person who unknowingly exposed me (I am allergic to the DtaP shot so had no immunity).

Hate this. I'm not even all that sick, just a horrible cough, sore throat and a little fever, but the asthma will control the next several days since getting out of bed makes me cough.

Sometimes it feels like just when you start to feel like everything has to be hard. I'm still missing my cats to the point of thinking I hear them or talking to them. I'm told this is normal. I'm even crying at home and that NEVER happens. but this on top of it? Too much and it's good I am sick enough to be in bed anyway.

When we're sick, it makes us more emotionally vulnerable. That "bad cold" you have, may be some sort of flu. My family went through this; it feels like a bad cold with fever and chills. H and I had it for more than a week. It felt like it would never end but, eventually, it did. Sorry your asthma makes it worse. Hang in there!
Thanks for this!

Yeah, fever and chills has been part of this. My nieces were here a few days ago and their parents had been sick with something like this and the baby had a runny nose then. So I've just gotten a gift from my sister via the kids. OH well, I had a pretty good track record this year.

It's 3:30 and I'm going to have to figure out some PRN or something soon. My cough syrup (only kind I can have) is liquid vicodin and even that isn't making me sleepy.

Oh well. It will pass eventually. If I can control the coughing/wheezing I can stop the breathing treatments. I think I may try a hot bath if it isn't better soon (just can't bear thinking of being cold when I get out).

Hopefully, you are getting some sleep. It is a crud that really causes breathing issues, I had to use a humidifyer for my lungs and saline spray for my sinuses. Did not sleep well at all until the "crud" improved....

I have to find my vaporizer. So far my nose is fine, it's all throat and lungs. I Hope it stays that way.

Still awake at 5:20. I took hydroxyzine which usually knocks me out if I only use it rarely and it did nothing. I guess i need another one (I can take 2) but I don't want to be out until 4 PM and then unable to sleep all over again tomorrow. More fever crap too.

I hate asthma. I am so glad that I am no longer working and exposed to all kinds of molds and dirt and bad things in the air in people's homes, or chemicals in a nursing home, because all those were terrible triggers but I hate when I get sick and can't do the one thing they tell you to do to get better: sleep.

Oh well. It is what it is. Good excuse for binge-watching.

Oh I hope you feel better soon. I just had bronchitis that last two weeks, one zpack then a steroid to get rid of it. I was wheezing like crazy then. I hope you get some sleep to. Hugs

Hope you feel better soon. I had bronchitis for quite a while and had breathing treatments and an inhaler. Thankfully that went away.

My daughter and her boyfriend both work in stores, so I'm always wary about whatever crud they bring home.
Thanks for this!

Thanks. I finally got to sleep about 7 Am. Not my best night. Hopefully tonight will be better. I'm certainly tired now.
