So I've been hearing this song a lot lately, especially with the movie Logan out. This whole song, by johnny Cash, describes my depression accurately. It made me think, when he sang, "what have I become?" It made me think what have I become, I am such a different person, than I was 10 years ago. Ten years ago I wasn't depressed, whole life was happy, maybe manic but I enjoyed life. Now I'm trying to rebuild (not depressed now) my life and actually live it. If I were to answer what I became, I became broken, defeated, lost, hopeless. Maybe I should play Pharrell's song happy lol.

Actually it is a Nine Inch Nails song. I think was written by Trent Reznor. Johnny Cash covered it. But I agree... I feel very in touch with that song in particular.

Hurt used to be my jam. Back in my depressed goth teenager days. I'm sure it would make its way into my rainy days playlist again but hopefully I won't have to go back there. i like the johnny cash version a lot more than the NIN version.

I'm not familiar with that song but will add it to things to check out. I hate to admit it but I've been listen to Justin Bieber's love yourself. I sing it as "F&ck yourself" as it's much more charming that way. I just found out Ed Sheeran wrote the song which explains why I like it so much. That man writes from the soul and is so wise beyond his years it's unbelievable. I like nine inch nails and Mr Cash also.

It is one of my favourite songs. Especially Trent Reznors version in Nine Inch Nails. My favourite line is 'everyone goes away in the end'. I have lost many friends, family and partners too. And now i am 'my only friend'. I find it oddly comforting during down times. A work of art. Johnny Cash did it justice too.

The NIN one was my jam too back in the nineties. All the music I listened to as a teen was dark. That song is depressing to me now and I try to avoid depressing things because they don't help for sure

Johnny Cash did a magnificent job covering "Hurt." It's a beautiful, haunting, very depressing song.

I love Nine Inch Nails. Their album "The Downward Spiral" has helped me through some really hard times, not just with mood swings/Bipolar, but also when something traumatic happened to me. Listening to the lyrics and intensity of the music has helped me heal in some ways. In fact, I am wearing a NIN shirt right now! The song "Hurt" is beautifully dark and definitely resonates with me.
