I've been depressed for two weeks then had a hypomanic episode for a day or two. And then happy for a week and now I'm in a mixed state it feels like, happy and indifferent. I'm very confused. Should I ask my pdoc to change the dosage of my meds? I feel like because of my unstable moods I can't get some things done. Any advice? Much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, It sounds like something isn't right with your meds. I do think you should speak with your pdoc asap and tell him/her exactly what you've posted here. Your dosages might be too low.

I agree with Laurie. It sounds like your meds are not stabilising you and making you unable to function, at least some of the time. Swinging moods are dizzying and mixed states can become very dangerous. Until you see you pdoc try to distract yourself, get sleep or rest at the same time each night, exercise and eat well. Basically, look after yourself. When can you see your pdoc next?

Are you on an antidepressant? Some of them have caused me to cycle like crazy
