When I used to go to CVS, it was 10-15 minutes. I'd walk up to the counter and ask, "Can you refill these medications for me? I'll wait for them." Then they'd say, "Sure. Is 10-15 minutes okay?" I'd say, "Not a problem."

Well, I switched to Walgreens about 3 months ago. When I called them last night to refill my meds, they said "Sure. We'll have them ready in the morning." Well, when I got there at 12pm today, they still hadn't filled them. They said, "Sorry. These medications have not been filled. Would you like to refill them?" I said, "Sure. I'll wait." Then the lady was like, "It'll be 4 and a half hours."

Seriously, 4 and a half hours??? What the ****? It's the same story everyday. Does their pharmacist has 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week off? How come CVS can do it in 10-15 minutes, but it's ALWAYS four and a half hours with you? I was literally the only person in the damn pharmacy, and it was STILL 4 and a half hours? You've got to be kidding me.

They send me a auto email when it's time for a refil and I just tap reply and then they send me a notice that the meds are ready. You can also set up an auto refill and they just send you an email that meds are ready for pick up.

My Walgreens is usually ready when they say. They send out a text saying my script is ready to be picked up

CVS by far has been the best. If I walk up they have it to me in 5 or so minutes, but I usually get a text that says they are ready: in and out. They aren't as busy as Walgreens which really helps. CVS is wide open and everyone says hi and are friendly. Walgreens you have these pocket windows and a huge wall....they also always seemed rushed and in a hurry.

I have the wife drop off paper or I call in the refill .... they robo call when filled ... could be 30 min or all day .... but I don't pick up for a day or two .... I learned a long time ago to stay at least a week ahead of needing a refill .... so I never wait on site ... always been afraid of running out .... I use kroger ... a local grocery store chain here ...

When I'm down to a weeks supply. Sometimes I wait too long though and sometimes a little earlier. When I remember is the best answer I got.

My Walgreens is always very busy and they seem to be constantly changing pharmacists. I just check periodically on the website. They mark it to be refilled about 10 days before the prescription ends and I give them a couple days to refill it, with a full day of office hours if it needs renewing. They will send me an e-mail to renew it a few days after if I don't catch it. It's easy to renew on line and that avoids any waiting.

The only ones I really have to keep track of are the scheduled drugs. They won't notify me that they're due and they'll only give me them two days in advance of their due date.

All of my meds are auto refill so Walmart just texts me twice a month as I can get everything that way except Valium, that's a paper script.

My doctors/ use fax method day of visit to pharmacy. If it's some odd ball non regular med Walmart usually fills it fast especially if it's a antibiotic.

Auto refill. If I don't want them , I'll wait for 'em to lapse and they send 'em back.

my meds are usually are ready within the next week or so after I drop off the script because they usually give me two weeks worth of pills at a time in a blister pack.

My refills are done in two business days (three for Latuda, since they special order that). I definitely sure I have enough because I can't rush it.

I'd go back to cvs lol. To answer your question, it's ready when I get there. My pdoc is about 40 minutes away and she sends them electronically, so when I get back to my home area (shop rite is 2 lights from my house) it is ready when I get there. When I did have hand script I went to cvs and it would take them about 15-20 min, unless they were slammed.

I used a cvs across town before I moved and the pharmacist was like a family member he was so helpful, remembered every customer, just all amazing person.
Then we moved 20 miles and use a different cvs. They one time gave my husband a bottle of pills of one med, with the WRONG pills inside.
He could have died if he just took one without looking.
They billed us incorrectly every month. So once a month we would go and spend 30 mins going line by line to figure out why a script was $5 last month, and $245 this month. EVERY SINGLE MONTH!

So my insurance company mailed me the instructions for express scripts, and they are great!
They send 90 days supplies at a time. They are saving me thousands this year by switching. I get billed every 90 days and the meds come. They also call your doctor to request the info they need and I didn't have to do any work.
When I compared their prices with cvs it was crazy!
Only script I have filled at cvs now is adderall because I need paper and the process of having that done thru express scripts is too much of a hassle since my adderall only cost $10 per month.
And to answer your question, at my cvs, they will do 15 minutes as long as you wait right at the desk and they can see you. If you drop off, it can be an hour to 3 days depending if it needs to be ordered.

I put in for a refill through my CVS app and receive a text when it's ready. I pick it up at the drive thru.

Same here. Or if they haven't started it, I just wait 10-15 minutes at the CVS and they fill it then.

There are two Walgreens in my city. One is 24 hours and the other is not. I've found that the one that is not 24 hours in better because there not as busy. My meds are on auto refill. As one person has mentioned....I receive a text it will ask if I want to refill my meds. I reply to the question. Then a little later I get another text telling me there ready for pick up. I just moved in Jan 2017 to this smaller city and it's going really good. No problem getting meds.

I go to Rite Aid, and they've seriously gone downhill. A few times within the last couple of months, they've told me I had to "wait a day or two" until a medication is in stock. Once they promised it would be in a day later. 1 day turned into 2 days. I had to pick them up from different pharmacies, but it would really be nice if the one by me got its act together since it's inconvenient. I complained to Rite Aid, and they said automatic refills online should prevent this from happening. Time will tell, but the fact this problem has happened a few times already makes it hard for me to excuse them....and they aren't even uncommon medications.
