I find depression deeply exhausting. I quip that "depressed" is not "deep rest" - it is startling how not doing much can exhaust you.

When the mood lifts, I feel fine, have energy, and do not experience "leftover" or "carry-over" exhaustion. This definitely is a blessing - the ability to enjoy energy when it is possible (in those windows of time), but it puzzles me how after something so terrible there is no "residue".

I wonder how others are in that regard.

I have no difference in energy between depression and non-depression only because I take Ritalin which gives me energy pretty consistently.
